New Dance Classes

My name is Hannah Stretton and I am currently studying in the first year of Carmel Bible Institute. As a trained dancer in a variety of different genres I am excited to be able to offer your children the chance to join a dance class. The classes will cover the basics of ballet, where they can build strength, balance and flexibility alongside the opportunity to learn contemporary/modern and street dance techniques.

As a Christian dance group I aim to follow the Christian values, use Christian music and give the children an opportunity to use dance as a form of worship. These classes will also work towards various performances within Carmel Christian School and also the Christmas Production held by Carmel City Church. Dance is a great way to stay active as well as have fun and build confidence.

I will be holding the dance class at Carmel City Church in Hall B for ages 7-11. The session will run from 2.55pm until 3.40pm every Monday during term time only. There will be a small fee of £2.50 per session for each child. A reduced rate for siblings will be available at £2 each. Classes need to be pre-paid at the beginning of each term. Payment information and term dates can be found on the following page.

The first class will start on Monday 3th October 2016. First invoice will be given at this session to be paid the following week. Please return the reply slip to your child’s teacher by Friday 30th of September. Dance or sportswear is required, along with appropriate footwear either ballet/dance shoes or P.E plimsolls.

Puppeteer will visit our school for show

Puppeteer Chris Brown will visit our school to do a puppet show and workshop. The workshop is just for the ABC’s class but the puppet show is open to everyone!

The show is a lot of fun, with lots of comedy and audience participation. It also gives insight into how the puppets are worked and moved with the scenery.

The show can reach a large audience, so you, your Early years or Junior child, a younger sibling and whoever you feel would benefit from such an art form are welcome to come and see the show!

Further details about the event can be found here or by talking to your teacher.
